Copyright

Ah copyright. It protects us as the creators of pictures, video, music and any just about anything that we make. It also prevents people from doing somethings that we should rightfully be able to do and even goes so far as holding back creativity. What is copyright/ How does it affect us? These are some of the questions that the copyright discussion will answer.

So that is copyright. Good and bad at the same time. The craziest thing about copyright is that to fully understand it you have to have a law degree!

As I said in the video, Disney is one of the most fierce protectors of their copyrighted property. They will come after even public schools if their property is used without permission. I also mentioned in the video that under the Fair Use provision of copyright law, if the material is being used for education, and only small pieces are used, you are allowed to use copyrighted material without seeking approval. The video below, despite using Disney's property, is legal and legit because it meets this criteria. You don't need to watch the entire video, but I would like you to watch Chapter one of the video. It attempts to describe copyright while using Disney content to do it. If nothing more, I hope you appreciate how challenging it must have been to piece the video together.
