Maze Puzzler

I think you will really like this game! It's very different from the others that we have made so far. I equate it to an old school Zelda game. That's just my opinion and maybe you will totally disagree. At the very least I can tell you that its definitely different.

The idea in this game is that you will have a hero who will navigate rooms to collect things. Wait a minute, this sounds like Pacman! The difference is that this will require different pieces to be used in different ways to access new rooms. You'll have to find the key to open the locked door. Collect dynamite and lay it strategically to blow up a barricade that prevents the hero from exiting the room. This is the sort of game you will be making.

The coolest part about this is that you can do just about anything with it! You can set the challenges, choose the theme and requirements for moving on. It's cool but can be a little overwhelming. This packet will walk you through the process in GameMaker. Just like the directions for Breakout, it's broken down into 2 parts. The second part can be found here.

If you would like to use the assets that were used in the example you can find them here. Keep in mind that they will severely limit your grade if you use them!
